My family and i went tent camping here. Everything seemed good at first until our second night our 6 year old child was sick and we left a day early. We had already paid for three nights. We loaded up before check out time cleaned our site spotless. They refused to refund our money for the third night because it was a cancellation even though they could still rent it out that day. And the website says you can rent peddle boats for 4 dollars an hour and they didn't have a single one to rent in working order. Firewood is $6 and we got ten very small pieces that burnt for about 20 minutes. I'm also an avid fishermen and caught two bluegill after several hours of fishing. Wasn't worth the drive but I guess you lose some you win some.
The zip line was great fun! The guides Kendrick and Nate were hilariously awesome and the overall atmosphere was extraordinarily friendly! Also, if Nate's single, you have my number
Very nice layout. Friendly, helpful staff, pet friendly. The grounds are well grommed. Away from the city light pollution. On a clear night you can see for ever.
Quiet and peaceful place. I was in Huntington for business this week and decided to stay for a few nights and had planned to leave Friday morning. Clean shower facilities and nice little cabin overlooking a small pond. Finished business earlier than expected and I needed to head home Thursday morning. Originally the front desk was unwilling to make any accommodation for early cancellation, but the owner was willing to permit store credit which I felt was fair and reasonable. Overall I would recommend this camp, however, looking back I should have booked night to night (not in advance, as they were not busy).
This campground has beautiful views in the fall. We rented 2 cabin's for 2 nights as it was fall and we had children in our group and were unsure of how cold it would be at night. It turns out that it was a beautiful fall weekend so tents would have been fine but we really enjoyed having the cabins to not have to put up/take down our tents. We rented Jon boats during our stay and had a lot of fun! There was a very nice fireworks show on Saturday night which was a pleasant surprise to us! I gave a 4 star (wish I could leave 4 1/2 star) due to the fact that one of our picnic tables broke (it was on the verge of breaking when we arrived to the site on Friday) and it took a long time from the time we told the front office to when we had a replacement brought to our site. That is no reason for us not to come back next year though, just a small inconvenience during our trip. I have stayed at multiple different camp grounds around Indiana growing up and this one by far has the best shower's/restrooms. The staff are very friendly and seem proud of their camp ground as they should be because it is very beautiful with lots of activities! 2 different playgrounds for the kids, a swimming pond, a fishing pond, boats to rent, zip lining, trails in the woods! It is a great place to take your family!
